How It Works
Sentine's audit trail is an immutable event stream. Every action on a matter — creation, scoping decisions, document uploads, verification checks, risk assessments, approvals, evidence pack exports — generates an append-only log entry. These entries cannot be edited or deleted.
Each audit log entry records the actor (user ID), action type, timestamp, and metadata pointer. The log provides a complete forensic record of how every compliance decision was made, by whom, and when. This is exactly the trail AUSTRAC expects when reviewing your firm's compliance.
Retention is built into the architecture. When a matter's retention anchor date is set, the system ensures all associated records — including the audit trail — are retained for the required 7-year period. No manual retention management needed.
